electric boiler
A boiler that produces heat using electrical resistance coils or electrodes.
electromagnetic induction

An audit that identifies how energy is used in a facility and that recommends ways to improve energy efficiency and reduce energy costs.
excess air
Air supplied to the boiler that is more than the theoretical amount of air needed for combustion.

The treatment of boiler water before it enters the boiler.
extra hazard area
A location that includes woodworking shops, manufacturing plants using painting or dipping, and automotive repair shops.
extraction steam
Steam that is removed from the turbine at a controlled pressure after it has passed through some of the turbine stages.
